OUR MISSIONS
OUR MISSION TRIPS
HONDURAS
Every summer we take a team to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. On this trip we work with an organization called Torch Missions. During our trip we build houses, deliver food bags, visit orphanages, work with local churches,
visit the hospitals, and much more.

RWANDA, AFRICA
Every two or three years, Homewood sends a team to visit our missionary families in Africa to offer encouragement and support for the work they are doing. In June of 2016 a team of 17 visited the Miller family in Rwanda. While there the team enjoyed participating in authentic "African daily life" experiences, English teaching classes and children's day camp, Perhaps the most enjoyable portions of the trip were meeting the friends and neighbors of the Millers and forming our own individual relationships with them.

THE BROCKINGTON FAMILY
Drs. Jared & Jenny Brockington met while attending Abilene Christian University as pre-med students. Upon graduation, they were married and attended Kansas City University where each earned a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. Their passion for missions was born from multiple short term trips to Latin America during undergrad and medical school.
In 2015, they moved to Malawi, where they served for two years in a small outpatient clinic as it opened a maternity hospital, delivering babies and caring for sick newborns.
In 2017 they relocated to Kenya, serving as faculty physicians, training medical officer interns and Kabarak University Family Medicine Residents from all around southeast Africa.
After serving for two years in Kenya, they returned to Malawi in 2019 where their ministry was focused on medical care, medical education of nationals, as well as discipleship.
Their ministry brought them to Birmingham, Alabama in 2022 to practice medicine at an underserved safety net clinic, Cahaba Medical Care West End Clinic.
In 2025, the Brockingtons will be joining a team in rural Honduras where they will be building a teaching mission hospital, Hospital Yojoa.
Jared and Jenny are the parents of Sophia and Oliver.
