As we celebrate 75 years of God’s faithfulness at Homewood Church of Christ, we believe one of the best ways to honor our past is to continue living out the mission Christ has given His church. Jesus taught us that loving God and loving our neighbors go hand in hand, and throughout His ministry He demonstrated a life of compassion, generosity, and service.
That’s the heart behind 75 Days of Service.
Beginning July 7th and continuing through Celebration Sunday on September 20, we are inviting every member to intentionally serve someone in our community. Whether you're an individual, family, or connect group, there's a place for you in this effort, and we hope you will discover the joy of serving others in the name of Jesus. This initiative reflects our vision of being kingdom devoted disciples making disciples of nations and generations. Serving others is one of the clearest expressions of the discipleship we're called to and our commitment to a life devoted to service.
What Does Participation Look Like?
During these 75 days, we encourage every person to participate in at least one act of service. Some projects may take just a few minutes while others may involve a larger commitment. Every act of kindness matters.
Throughout the campaign, we will provide a variety of suggested opportunities, but you’re also encouraged to create your own. You might serve a neighbor, volunteer with a local ministry, prepare a meal, write encouraging notes, or collect supplies for those in need. Big or small, every act becomes an opportunity to reflect the love of Christ.
Service doesn't have to be limited by age or ability. Everyone can serve, and together hundreds of simple acts of service can become a powerful testimony to our community.
