Homewood Church of Christ will be hosting a benefit dinner in our Family Life Center to raise funds to provide financial support for additional teachers at Virunga Valley Academy in the Musanze District of Rwanda for the coming school year.  The school is growing and the need for qualified teachers is urgent.  We invite you to come learn more about VVA and the kingdom work that is being accomplished in Rwanda.  We want you to hear how lives are being changed and how people are coming to know Christ through their association with VVA.


Our prayer is that you will respond with a spirit of generosity.  This willingness to share blessings will inspire others to do the same so that VVA will be a light for Christ in Rwanda today and for the future generations.



Homewood's own Tim and Emily Shell, owners of Bistro V in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, will be providing the meal.  There will also be a silent auction during the event.


Cost is $100 per person/$800 per table.  (Payment required at time of RSVP)

If your are unable to attend but would like to contribute, we have several options for you.  You may mail a check payable to Homewood Church of Christ with a note in the memo line, VVA Teacher Support.  You can also scan the QR code to contribute online.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP VVA

  • Pray for the fundraiser to be a success.
  • Share and share again on your social media accounts about the banquet.
  • Please come and invite a friend who may not know about this important ministry.
  • If you are unable to attend the banquet, go online and give a one-time donation or sign up to give on a monthly basis.  No amount is too small or too big.
  • Donate toward our silent auction as an individual, from your business or as a small group.  Small groups could join together and donate a themed gift basket. (i.e., a movie themed basket, coffee basket, quiet time basket, spa basket, etc.)

  • We need servers to wait on the tables (20 people).
  • We need 4 people to greet our guests.
  • 2 people to manage our silent auction.
  • We need 4 people to help with set up.
  • We need lots of help to take down when the event is over.
