Give yourself grace
Everyone is trying to find a new normal with new structure and new routines. One day may not look the same as the next. Don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t follow a schedule or if the schedule had to be changed. Try again tomorrow and pray about how the day will be. Give yourself grace and know you are doing enough!
Give your children grace
Our sweet kids are full of emotions. They are frustrated, confused and maybe even scared. They are processing all of this in their own way. Give them grace and meet them where they are. Try to include them and give them ownership in what your day looks like. Keep conversations open and allow them to ask questions. Every child is different. Each day may bring new feelings and anxious thoughts.
Try not to Compare
Crafts, fun experiments, hour by hour schedules, resources, photos.... all on display on social media. It can be intimidating and bring upon guilt of all the things you are not doing with your child. Be intentional about who you follow on social media. Remember, social media is the 'highlight' reel of a person's day. Everyone is doing what's best for their own family. This will look different for each of us. Be confident in the decisions you make for your family. God placed you specifically in this role!
